I have an extra cable receiver that I am planning to return. I just got a DVR from my cable company. My parent's just had cable installed at their home, and only received one box. They were supposed to receive two. Is it illegal for me to loan it to them until they get their own box?

yeppers. the box is registered to you on your account. Plus the cable company has prolly already deactivated the box. I worked for Charter communications. They do not like that at all.
